My reaction to the video was a little confused. First, I didn't understand the video, but then I understood it. Yes, I do see a similarity between Van Gogh and the NASA video style. I notice that the video and the Van Gogh paintings both had details with swirls. I think the video was interesting, showing the Earth turning and the ocean.

My reaction to the the video was that it look cool the way that all of the lines moved in the ocean. It looked like there was big waves everywhere in the ocean.

The similarity between van Gogh and the NASA video was that van Gogh had the same type of lines in his art work as the NASA video. Van Gogh work had the same type of lines as in the video the vieo showed the same type of lines just moveing.

My thoughts about the video is that it looks cool the way that all off the lines move. The way that the lines look in the video makes it look like how the lines would move in van Goghs art work.

My reactions were that the NASA video looked pretty creative. The waves looked like a bunch of tsunamis! The simularity was that they had curves and simular color types (Ex:Blue, green, dark colors.)
I thought the video was awesome because you can tell just by looking at it all the hard work they put in to it.

Well at first it was confusing. AS time went by I started to get the hang of it. So yes, I basically understood it. Then, I did see the similarity between Van Gogh and the "NASA STYLE". Also, I noticed that, while I was watching the video the Van Gogh paintings had very funny swirls. I think the video was interesting, showing the Earth and the ocean moving back and forth.

I enjoyed the video. It reminded me of the ocean currents. One of the similarities is,the NASA style is like Van Goghs painting Starry Night.I wonder what the swirls are in the NASA style?the NASA style gave me a whole new perspective of what the earth looks like.

My reaction to this video was amazed. It was really cool.Yes,I saw a similaritie with Van Goughs and the video. In one of his paintings he had beautiful swirls in the sky. In that video it had swirls on the earth. That video toatally reminds me of Vincent Van Gough.

Actually, I didn’t like the video, I loved it. It’s a really good experience. People including me are reasonable for thinking that this NASA video reminds them of Vincent Van Gogh. I think people are reasonable because the video has lines that go round and in any direction, which reminds me of his famous piece of art Starry Night.
Starry Night is a famous painting by Van Gogh. It also has lines that go in any direction. Starry Night also has shades of blue just like in the NASA video.
The video is a good example of some of the paintings made by Van Gogh.

My reaction to the video was it looked like there was bunch of windmills in the water. The similarity of the N.S.A video and web sites where that they both have those circle lines in the water or in the sky.i though the video looked like it tells the weather because all of the circle lines.

This ocean swirling around does remind me of Van Gogh. The similarity between the N.A.S.A video and the Van Gogh is that Van Gough painted the lines in that video. The painting was Starry Night. The swirly lines look like a hurricane on a forecast radar. I thought the video looked like a huge storm happening from the hurricane lines.

My reaction to the video was intrsting, because it has lot of movment with the water so it made me notice that water moves around a lot. The similarity is that they both have swriles in the water.Ithought they look like showing the erath with movment!!!

My reaction to the video was "How can the ocean be so swirly?" There is definitely a similarity between the NASA video and Vincent van Gogh's work. They are all swirly and have a lot of blue and white. My thoughts about the video are that everything is very swirly, there are a lot of blues and whites, and that there are more swirls near the Prime Meridean, land and the Equator.

My recation to this video was amazement. The sky looked like huge swirls of wind. I loved the way the picture was made. I also liked the way the video showed me the movement of the Earth's water.
The similarity between NASA's video and Van Gogh work is they both have swirls. The video looked like Van Gogh painting the Starry Night. The video uses the also used the same colors as Van Gogh did in that picture. The Earth's water move ment looks like his paint brush strokes.
My thoughts about the video were that everything looked so beautiful.

I completely think Van Gogh's work and the Nasa video have resemblance. First of all both have alot of swirly lines. They also both have alot of different shades of whites and bllues. Personally I think that the Nasa video had alot of what looked like whirlpools.

My reaction to the video was that it was intering.I think because the way that the water was swirling in the oacen. It looked so cool. The NASA video and Van Gogh's paintings does has some similarties.Like they both are very detailed.Something eles is they are both very pertty.

My reaction to the video is "the ocean is very swirly,to me it really looked like tsunamis and waves in fact there were alot of blues and whites around the earth.

The similarity between van Gogh and the NASA video was that van Gogh used the swirls on his panting's as well in the video to make it loook pretty creative I think?

although the video was pretty creative and cool!!!

The ocean is very interesting thing because of the lines. The lines move very fast and that is what I thought was the most interesting thing in the large ocean.

My reaction to the video waS"OOHH!" and "Is that even real?". There is a sure similarity between the video an van Gogh's art. There both swirly and don't realy look real. My thoughts about the video are that it looks someone made a cartoon about the earth. It doesnt look real.

This swirling in a circle reminds me of Van Gogh. The similarity between the video and N.A.S.A is Van Gogh painted lines in this video. The painting was a bad night. The lines looked like a hurricane. I thought the video was huge hurricane from the hurricane lines.

I think this video was amazing. It made me think that I was floating in space looking down at Earth's ocean.

I saw a similarity between Van Gogh's painting "The Starry Night" and NASA's video style. Both have lots of blue swirling lines, except the lines don't move in the painting.

As I said before the video was amazing. It's crazy to see all of Earth's ocean moving around.

My reaction to the NASA video was a little confusing at first. Soon I understood that the swirls mean the current’s energy. Van Gogh‘s pictures and the NASA video are alike because the pictures are made up of swirls and straight lines, the “Starry Night.” NASA’s video has swirls and straight lines too. I enjoyed the NASA video because the water’s movement changed every month.

Emma H. said...

My reaction to the video was confusion at first, but then I looked at the swirly lines and I looked at one of Vincent Van Gogh's paintings, Starry Night, and I understood how they are similar. Yes, I think Vincent Van Gogh's work and the video are similar, because of the swirly lines.

My reaction to the video was that I was very intrigued with this video.I was intrigued because from this video and Vincent Van Gogh's work they both include various type's of detail's for example,in the below url page,I saw that in Vincent Van Gogh's art work was a lot of swirl's just, like the N.A.S.A video. That's what I,felt that the ocean currant's by N.A.S.A had a similarities between Vincent Van Gogh's work.

Rie S.V said...

NASA video did remind me of Vincent Van Goh's artwork. One panting this video reminded of starry night. The video used alot of clors like blue, wight, orenge. The video also used sworls of wight that was used in starry night.

Van Gogh's pictures are alike because there are a lot of swirls. The cool thing about NASA is that the NASA ship has to land in the water. Then it makes swirls like one of Van Gogh's paintings.

Is wonderful to see the ocean, and the Earth cool video.

Jasmin B. said...

When I seen the NASA video for the first time I didn't really get it.I didn't understand what those swirls meant.I played it again and thought about the title, then I relized thats the current of the ocean! I think the video is intresting because we see the point of view from outer space. To us the oceans waves look nothing like the videos waves.
The video was like Vincent Van Goghs' painting "The Starry Night" because both the video and the painting are made up of swirls and regular lines. Both the video and painting were inspired by something. The famous painting "The Starry Night" was inspired by a song. The NASA video was inspired by the ocean. Two different things not even close to simalar match up at some point.
My feelings to this video was like glue.I couldn't belive that a video from NASA and "The Starry Night"a painting can be alike! I had to visit every site twice to make sure all the evidence made sence. I loved the video and im glad you chose it for the 4th grade assignment.

Sincerly,

My reaction to the NASA video was confusing but then when I saw it a second time I understood it because the swirls meant the current's energy. The similarity between Van Gogh painting and the NASA was that they both had waves and similar color types for example:blue,Green, brown and white.
What I thought about the video is that it was awesome.I really like how the months were changing while the earth was moving.

I think that this video is very interesting because it showed ,me how the water moves, and it also showed me the equator line. The video also showed me in which direction the water moves. My reaction to the video was that I thought this video was interesting. It showed me how the water moves over a period of time. This NASA video and alot of Van Gogh's paintings have a similarity. What they have in commoin is that in Vincent's paintings the swiry lines represent the sky and in the NASA video the swirly lines also represent the sky moving. I thought that the video was cool and educational. It was cool to see the sky and water from a different point of view. Here on earth we are so small, but when you see Earth from space it makes the continents look smaller then they really are.

I felt surprised when I saw the video. The video surprised me because I never imagined that the ocean current could make the water look like swirls.
I do see a similarity between van Gogh's painting style. The swirls in the video looked like the swirls in van Gogh's painting (starry night). It makes me wonder if NASA took one of van Gogh's painting and made an animation with it.
My thoughts about the video is that it looked very cool. I think that the scientists who did this work are also very cool and that they should be very proud of themselves.

I felt really inspired when I saw the NASA video. I wasn't expecting to see a video of oceans that looked like art moving through the motions of slow to fast.
The NASA video and Van Gogh's paintings' are similar because you can see and feel the universe moving.
I would be curious to know why Van Gogh chose the style that he did.

I saw a lot of similarities between NASA's video and Van Gogh's paintings. Both had lots of detail and if you looked really close you would see that the sky in the painting and the sea in the video were made up of little swirls.

I hope someday I could make a picture like that.

Luis P. said...

My reaction to the video is that I liked how the swirls moved. It looked like there were pieces of paper that were stuck together and moved all around the world.
The similarity I between the VanGogh and the NASA is that the swirls were the same. NASA video and Van Goghs pantings both had swirls in them. I thought the video was cool showing the ocean currents.

What I liked about the video is when NASA took one of van Gogh's painting and made an animation of it. My second part is when it showed the image of the ocean's surface currents around the world.I believe the scientist who did the work were also very awesome and also they should be very proud of themselves and their work that they have done. Also the world looks like a big piece of land and with water combined.

My reaction to Perpetual Ocean video from NASA is very interesting because the ocean currents from July of 2005 through November of 2007 went in many different directions. It continuously kept moving because currents are the motion of the waters. I also found it cool because many of the ocean currents looked like small and big whirlpools. I found from Ocean Currents and Climates website that the ocean currents turned clockwise with wind in the northern hemisphere of the north of the Earth’s equator, and the ocean currents turned counter-clockwise with wind in the southern hemisphere of the south of the Earth’s equator. Also, I saw surface currents which are 10% of an ocean.
Yes, I do see similarities between Vincent van Gogh’s paintings and the NASA video style. The ocean currents from Perpetual Ocean video have the similarities of brush strokes of clouds and the tree’s bark from “Pollard Willow” of Vincent van Gogh’s watercolor painting style. Also, the swirling clouds and stars ablaze from “Starry Night” of Vincent van Gogh’s painting look like the ocean currents in the Perpetual Ocean video from NASA.
It is so amazing to me that NASA can keep track of all the ocean currents’ movements with satellites and put this video on the Flickr website. My last thoughts are the movement of ocean currents from the locations of the continents from the north and south of the Earth’s equator were very precise.

I liked the video.Because it showed the water moving in diffrent ways. I see the similirity that both people make swirls. The video shows the water turns everywhere.I Think that the video is similar to the painting starry night because the currents are like the cloud in the painting.

I loved the video. I think the video was cool. I saw lots of continents like Africa, Asia, South America and Australia. I like how it listed the months and days.I thought the ocean looked cool and how the clouds floated above the ocean.

Van Gogh’s paintings and the NASA video are similar. They both have lots of colors. They both have a similar way of showing the ocean. They both have lots of details that make them look different then when we see them in real life.

My thoughts on the video is that it made me think the earth is big. It showed the earth
rotating, which is something you don’t get to see in pictures.

I think the way NASA showed us the currents it looked like how Van Gogh showed us the wind in "A Starry Night." I thought "Hmmm, que pasa?" at the beginning of the video. Then "This is a bit fun" as I saw all the currents and saw Korea go by. At the end I thought "That was a bit repetitive but it was fun too." My reaction was "Hmmmmm I liked the special effects. Who wrote the music? It's good!!!!!!"

BrunoC said...

My reaction to the video was confusing because there weren't any words or voices. Then I looked at the title "THE ART OF THE OCEAN CURRENTS" and I got the hang of it. I do see the similarities between Van Gogh and what NASA posted. They both have swirly lines. The video looked like THE STARY NIGHT.

Well at first it was kind of confusing to me. But I liked when I saw the swirls. It reminded me of Van Goghs painting. The painting was called a Starry Night because my mom showed it to me on the internet.

My reaction to the NASA video was that it was boring. The similarity between Van Gogh's paintings and NASA's video is they both have swirls and use the color blue. I thought the video was boring and the pictures were cool. I thought the video was boring because the earth just kept spinning and did nothing else. The pictures were cool because they told a story and had more things like sky and ground not just spinning.

Charles H. said...

When I first saw the video, I thought, “Cool.” All of the currents looked like a hurricane. Compared to Vincent Van Gogh, the NASA video looked just like Starry Night’s swirls. My thoughts are it was strange how the currents look like tornadoes.

I like the video because it is both realistic and abstract. I do think of Van-Gogh's Starry Night when I see the video.which leads us to the next question: Yes I do see a similarity in the style but not in the video what mean by this is the two subjects are not related in any way.My thoughts about the video are that it is really nice and I would be excited to look into watching more of the videos.

RubyG. said...

I like the video because when I look at it the water looks abstract and the land looks realistic. I looked at Vincent Van Gogh's website and I saw "The Starry Night" and I thought that the video looked like it. I really like Vincent Van Gogh's paintings. The Nasa video is really beautiful too and the water looks just like the paintings!

My reaction to the video was a little confusing. I wondered if the video was how the earth formed or a video with swirling waves. I figured it was both. When I saw the video it reminded me of Van Gogh's painting Starry Night. Specifically the sky. I think that Van Gogh liked to use swirls in his paintings. I really thought this video was cool.
