2-313 - The History of Typography

2-313,
When we are typing we are entering our text using a particular font, or style of writing. But fonts aren't just fonts, they are "typography" or the art or technique of arranging type in order to make language visible.

Before computers there were typewriters and before that, handwriting. In order to make writing universally legible there needed to be typography.

What I learned that typography is that a french man came up with a font called Blackletter.Next a person came up with a font called ROMAN TYPE which was much more easy to read when printed. Next came italics which is like roman text but slanted so more could fit on a page. A lot of fonts had seraphs in till a guy changed that to have no seraphs.
My favorite font is Lucia Handwriting but it is not in the movie. The style I remembered was Comic Sands. I liked the stile of the video because the letters moved when he was tapping them or other thing like pushing them. I also liked you could only see his hands. I liked it.
