Hurricane Sandy changed my life because,I was looking forward to seeing the holloween parade and no school for one week.Now my dad can not bring me and my mom to washington D.C..
I did not have any plans for mid-winter recess. I do not think that it should be called mid-winter break if its only four days long. I do know what it should be called. It should be called an extra long weekend. it should be called extra long weekend because a weekend is two days, a long weekend is three days, and so a four day weekend should be called an extra long weekend. Also it could be called a mid-winter weekend. After all it is still in the middle winter! :)
My plans changed because I was planing
to go to sewing camp but sandy stopped that from happening.

No hurricane sandy did not change my life because i don't have planes
Since we lost three days of February break, my plans didn't change. We didn't have any vacation plans, so we are available to go to school. This "vacation" feels like a long weekend because my dad goes to work on Monday and Tuesday but on vacations he gets to stay home.
No, I have had no plans while hurricane sandy was happening. Hurricane sandy was only for a little while so it was not so bad after all. I just treated it like a tiny vacation off from school. My mom needed to go shopping so she went during the hurricane sandy with Gabby and I. It was horrible because my mom bought a lot of stuff at stop and shop.
Hurricane sandy didn't stop me and my family from doing anything. Everywhere we go we took the car because it was the fast thing we can use to get in and out of my house and back in.
There was one problem that was really bad gas was the problem. That was the only problem that my family had. The line was about 5 blocks long. One day my mom had to leave Gabby and I home while she went to go get gas.
Since our family did not have plans, we did not go away. So, on Saturday, the 16th I will go with my Mom to Grand Central. Another thing is that we're going to see the Lego model of Grand Central and go to the Lego Store.
I did not have any plans for February break but I think that February break should not be called a break because it is only an extra three days out of school I think it should be called a SUPER WEEKEND because it is not a break at all just a few extra days out of school
I think that hurricane sandy changed us a little. The reason that it changed me is because I had a whole weak away from school. My Mom Dad could not go to work because they had a power outige at work. But besides that nothing changed. My whole family had no planes.

NO. I don't really go anywhere but my grandma's house who lives very close by. The other thing is, why can't we have the WHOLE break AND sandy break. Sandy was to save our lives, NOT a break. That is why i am angry with whoever changed perfect plans to a disaster. I have MORE important stuff to do at home like researching toys and widening my imagination so I won't forget. Doesn't that sound important? That is my response.

I did not have any plans for this vacation. The shortend vacation didn't affect my life. I think this vacation should be called long weekend vacation. It should be called that because it is a long weekend. My mom does not get off from work or school this weekend.

My plans changed because I was supposed to go to Disney. But when Hurricane Sandy the vacation got shorter and our flight home was on Wednesday. So we had to cancel the trip.

Hurricane Sandy changed my life only a little bit. The way it effected my mom is her work ran out of electricity. She had To go to some of her colleges houses or apartments! Then they moved in to another place to work while they keep cleaning up the building.
The way it effected my dad is it flooded the school he teaches in. It was more than a foot and a half of water! Some peoples cars drowned. It was crazy!
The way it effected me and my sister is we didn't have anything to do for five days. And we didn't get fresh air to breath! It was crazy!

I was supposed to go New jersy and i can go but going for a shorter period of time. My plans did not change but my thoughts have changed about the February break it feels more like a long weekend.
Hurricane Sandy changed a lot of peoples lives from good to worse! It even changed my life a lot! At my after school me and my friends made key chains for the parents at the after school. All of the money went to Hurricane Sandy victims. I thought we really made a difference in Hurricane victims lives. It turns out we did make a big difference because at the end we made $ 200.00! THEN when Hurricane Sandy was over it had done a lot of damage to things so we couldn't go to school for one week! Then when it was close to are vacation they said that they were going to shorten the days because of Hurricane Sandy! I thought that was really unfair even the teachers were unset! We all wanted a long vacation but we can't change the weather. So that's what I think about are shortened vacation.
Hurricane Sandy changed my mid-winter recess because, my family and I were supposed to go skiing in Vermont from Sunday to Thursday,but since Sandy hit and winter recess was shorten to days my family and I are not able to go to Vermont.
I didn't have any plans for mid-winter recess so nothing disappointed me. Now the "break" feels like a long weekend instead of a break. And none of my plans were canceled, because I didn't have any plans.
Well Hurricane sandy did effect many,many,many different people but it did not effect me. Although the lights in my house flickered alot. But beacause we have a shortened break I did not have anything planned. I also did a few things for the people who lost alot of things and family members. And here is what I did: I went to P.S.10's bake sale and bought a few things at the bakesale. I also went to 2-310's pin sale and bought 4 pins and that is how I helped the people that got effected by hurricane Sandy. And I also wanted to say that even though I did not get effected in Hurricane sandy, 2 people I know got effected.And those 2 people are my aunt Dianna which the power in her house went out and my other friends are Tanya and Wilson which thier whole house got flooded and there car washed away into the ocean and it crumbled up into alot of pieces! And that is what happened to me and my family and friends during hurricane Sandy.

Over my short vacation i went out to eat with my family. I went to the movies with my mom. Then i went blowing with my family. That was what i did over my vacation.
I think it feels more like a long weekend because Monday is a holiday for almost everyone. We did not have anything planned. If it was a regular week long holiday I most probably would have had to go to a week long camp. But , now my mum only had to take one day off . Perfect long weekend for us a both. We might go to the movies.
It stinks that we had Sandy. Its because we were supposed to have this entire week off. When Sandy hit we had a week off so now the school wants us to make up the school days we missed. So that's why or vacation got shortened down to two days. In a way it feels like a long weekend.

Yes, losing 3 days of February vacation did change my plans. I usually have my birthday off because it falls in February break. But since the schedule changed I have to go to school on my birthday. If I had my choice I would be off on my birthday.
Hurricane sandy did change my plans. Since I live in two houses, I was going to go fishing with my dad and my brother in Woodstock (where my other house is). Then the storm came and we couldn't go because it's too far of a ride. It was too risky and there would be damage so we wouldn't be able to go anyways.

I didn't have any plans for this week. I don't like our short vacation because Sandy was not our fault. It feels like a long weekend instead of a vacation. I wanted to hang out with my guinea pigs.
My plans did change. I was supposed to have play dates then go skiing but now I have to go to school then go skiing. It feels like a long weekend but not two days long more like 10 days long.
I think that our "vacation" is more like a real long weekend. I don't think it's a vacation because when you get vacations from school they're always like a week or four days. but not this time it's not! This time it's only two days and that probably messed up a lot of peoples plans for the week. Luckily I only had plans for the second day of are vacation so my plans didn't get ruined. But a lot of peoples did. So that's what I think about are vacation.
Me and my family did not have any plans but I was looking forward to kicking back and relaxing for the whole week and doing nothing. I enjoyed staying home for the storm but do they really have to cut vacation? If Hurricane Sandy never came there would be more people on this planet. I don't think it's fair that victims of Sandy lost there homes and we lost 3 days of our vacation.
My family didn't have plans to traveling but we were going to go to a party on Thursday but since sandy hit and we had a shorter vacation we can't go anymore.
Well, I basically didn't have plans but luckily, my mom got plans to go to New Jersey to see my brother's friend.We left on Saturday,it was really fun. I stayed there for one day and then went home on Sunday night. But still,I hate hurricane sandy because then I would be staying home for 6 more days! 6!

Usually we have friends visit us upstate to go sledding, have hot chocolate and we play in the snow. Also we spend time with relatives from out of town. With them we do fun things like go to museums , go ice scating , and do other fun things. This year we only had time to see family.
My plans didn't change since we didn't have many plans so we had time to do them. It doesn't feel like a long weekend it feels in the middle of long and short.
We did not have plans this week. The storm did not affect us. It did affect my dad.. The storm affected my dad because he was coming back from Florida but his plane got delayed. We didn't get to see him for a long time.
Sandy ruined our vacation to Disney World so we went to Pennsylvania where we have a house. Our boiler backfired, the house had a lot of smoke so we called 911 and the firemen came. And the next day a bird named Grousse hit our window and died. We could not stop Sandy. So it is not our fault. It’s not fair that we got less vacation.

I went to my grandparents house in west cornwall conneticate.
Me and my friend Lucinda went skiing and had lots of fun it was very cold though.
Tomorrow I am going to manhattan to see my grandpa he is known in the world so at nyu(that is where he and my mom work)they made a room in honor of him.

The shortend winter break did not affect my vacation plans. My family and I planned to go to Massachusetts for four days. We left on Saturday and we came back on Tuesday. Not having a whole week off did not make us change our plans in any way. I just wish we had the whole week off, because I would rather stay home instead of going to school.e
My vacation changed because of Sandy because I was going to go skiing but the DOE shortened the break. I was going to go to Smugglers Notch (Smuggs) but the drive was 8 hours so we could not go. So we went to Pennsylvania instead. Instead of skiing we walked on a lake, it was fun but not as fun as skiing. I was going to see 6 Cousins, 4 Aunts and 2 Uncles but instead I saw 3 Cousins, 2 Aunts and 1 Uncle.
Our plans did not change because of Hurricane Sandy. We went to Pennsylvania and stayed in a hotel for two nights so the weekend went fine. I think it was a long weekend because the two days were connected to the weekend,also it wasn't very long and it wasn't like our real February break.

Since this Febuary brake got shortened my family can not go to the place we were going to go to. We were going to go to Florida from Saturday to Thursday. Now that the week is shortened we are just staying home. I was (and still am)mad that Sandy came around. I wish we went to Florida.

hurricane sandy didn't affect me because i didnt have any big plans so to me it was just a relaxing vacaition.
I did not have any plans for this vacation. I if I had this whole week off, I would sit and play video games at my B.f.f's house. He lives on the same floor as me in our apartment building. Or I could have stayed longer at my grandparents' house.

Hurricane Sandy changed my plans because I was suppose to go skiing for the entire brake, but I only went for 3 days. I still had a lot of fun!
My vacation was changed because I was planing to go to museums and zoos and sleep over at some friends houses. I would have done these things but I wasn't able to, oh well.

Yes I did get affected by Sandy. My moms parties got cancel so se did not get paid. I spent an extra night at my dads not moms A reason we did not get affected is we still had power. We also lost hot water for a day.
I didn't really know what my plans were for mid-winter break but last Christmas vacation my family got sick so we couldn't go to Vermont and instead we went during mid-winter break. I heard that it was going to be a bad sickness season so I thought it might turn out the same way. It is kind of funny but it turns out that my sister is sick!

The short break did not affect me because I squeezed 9 days of fun in to 4 days. This is what I did: I roller skated with one of my best friends, I had a sleep over with him, I went to lunar new year in Queens, we ate hand pulled longevity noodles, we saw dragons and lions, we went to the museum and saw alot of different exibits and we saw Max the fourth grader there (he was seeing the global kitchen exibit too), we invited Liam over for steak, I went to chess camp, and now I'm doing this essay. Sandy Changed my plans of vacation because now i have a shorted vacation and i wished it was for the whole week. and also it is not fair because we deserve a whole week of winter break to have fun with friends and family.

The picture that stood out to me was the fire in breezy point. It really helped me understand how Sandy was so bad. There was one building with roof burned off. The wood was on the ground. The smoke stack fell over. It was all really bad.
I remember going out in the middle of the storm at midnight. it was not too bad at my place. it was a lot of wind though, and i could hardly move.
I was scheduled to go skiing in Vermont. We were going to stay there 3 nights. My plans did change. I was going to go with my cousins, plus my uncle and aunt. Instead of skiing we went to Manhattan and want to see a Broadway show. I fell like it was not really a vacation it was kind of like a short spa treat meant. You could still relax but not as long. It feels more like a long weekend because we usually have two days off for the weekend. But this break is like a long weekend. And that is a good thing because I can play my Wii and sleep longer and go to bed late.
Over the midwinter break we went to my grandma's house in Virginia. The shortened break did not effect us at all, but a couple weeks ago we were going to go to an indoor water park and we couldn't. I think that we should be calling it a " vacation " but instead we should call it a really long weekend instead.
We were going to have a two day tubbing trip but since we had our vacation shortened we did it for one day. I loved going tubbing because I could feel the wind breezing in my face. Also I really enjoyed getting pulled up the mountain. It made me think that it was a week long vacation.
My plans did not change. we only had two days of vacation I did not know we only had three days of school but when I hear about it I was excited but we only had two because hurricane sandy took away one week of school and we needed more days to cover the days we missed school days because of hurricane sandy. if hurricane sandy did not come we will have three days plus two days because of the weekend an that will equal four plus one day if we did not lose days that will be five days then it could be longer vacation and that means longer fun. While hurricane sandy I was looking at the news and looking at what was happening around the word what was happening while hurricane sandy was doing.
The only plans i had were to go to Cooperstown but it didn't matter because i still got to go.

This week I was going to go to Indiana for winter break. I didn’t get to go because the Department of Education said "We missed a lot of school days because of sandy so we will make these days up". So when heard this I was very upset because I was dying to go to Indiana! So I asked my parents if we could go but they still said no, Because it takes one whole entire day to drive there. Plus who would go for only like a day ? Like that’s so silly. So I was board on Thursday thinking of having only 2 days of vacation. Then on Friday when I found out I had computer homework I said to myself I was doomed! So here I was thinking all night long how was I ever going to write this thing? So I started thinking how did sandy really change my plans. Then I remembered that I was going to go to Indiana. So when I heard my alarm go off I screamed my mom said '' Sophia get up and start typing your essay I said '' mom I don’t want to type right now but I had to do it.
My plans didn't change we went to Hawaii anyway. Because we got the tickets a long time ago.

Yes it did feel like a long weekend. I had a lot of fun over the weekend. The most fun activity was when I went ice skating. It was my first time and I got a complement about it and the kid said "is this your first time because it looks like your fifth time!" when I heard that complement I felt so happy! I fell down two or three times. My grandparents where so amazed.

We planned to see my grand pa in Arizona, we were going to stay there for the whole week but the plans changed and we only had 2 extra days in Arizona. I found out that I had strep throat in Arizona so I had to go to a doctors office and had to take a test to put something down my throat (it felt bad).

My family was still thinking of plans when we hared that a 2 day vacation so our plans were not changed.My family was kind of thinking of go to California to see our friends but since we were not so no harm was done.This vacation was more like a long week end.
Sandy changed my vacation by making it shorter. I was suppose to spend the time with my dad but I only had a couple of day with him. Thanks to Sandy now I don't have a week off. I couldn't do all the activities my parents had planned. Now its school again and I have to wait till the weekend to see my family the whole day.

Over the vacation i had no plans to do anything. So the shortened days did not effect me. Though it felt like a long weekend instead of a vacation. My brother and I went to the batting cages since we had nothing to do.
I went to California for 7 days 6 nights the shortened February break did not effect us. What did affect us was me having the stomach flu for mostly the whole thing.Instead of going right back to school on Wednesday I came back on Thursday.
Over February break my plans did not change because I did not stay in school the extra days. It felt like a decent vacation. I love my vacation I went to Sanibel. I had a blast.
